Disaster Action Team (DAT) Volunteer Opportunity

Every year, people across the country are forced from their homes due to devastating fires, storms, and other disasters. Single- and multi-family fires account for 90% of all disaster responses, and Olusa Foundation’s Disaster Action Team (DAT) is there to help. We respond to over 60,000 emergencies annually, providing immediate assistance and long-term support to those in need.

As a Disaster Action Team Volunteer, you will:

  • Provide emotional support: Be a compassionate listener for families who are dealing with the immediate aftermath of disasters.
  • Offer temporary relief: Assist in providing essential services like lodging, food, clothing, and other necessary supplies for those displaced by disasters.
  • Connect families with recovery services: Help link individuals and families with the long-term resources they need to rebuild their lives.
  • Make a difference in communities: Play an essential role in ensuring that families don’t have to face tough times alone by being a source of strength and hope.
  • Work as part of a team: Collaborate with a dedicated, compassionate team committed to making a meaningful impact.

What we offer:

  • Comprehensive training: We provide all the necessary training to become a proficient rescuer and disaster responder, regardless of your experience level.
  • Flexible volunteering: Volunteers can serve in various roles based on skills and interests, with opportunities for both short-term and long-term involvement.
